One of my working challenges, if not my primary working challenge, is how to reproduce the energy I feel when I’m in an office when I’m working for myself at a coffee shop or at home. The freedom of working for myself is satisfying, but I find myself often unable to shake a sense that, in the absence of a deadline, my urgency is less than it could be. Do others face this issue? How do you resolve it?
How do you create urgency when you work from home?

Hi…its a common thing faced by most of them working in home and can be solved you have got a fabulous idea for this by relaxing or talking with others to reduce it.
Oh, yes….. I own a forum and I really have to watch myself. Without a boss breathing down my neck to meet deadlines, I had days when I found myself chatting on my forum more than working on my sites.
It’s a fine line. I don’t want to suck all of the fun out of it because the monotony would drive me insane. But I can’t twiddle away my hours either. Before I even look at my computer in the morning now, I decide exactly what I need to do in the next hour. If I work productively for that hour, I’ll spend 10-15 minutes on my forum. It works well so far.
Good luck with your endeavors.
